Projects and Training

I work with leading development organisations such as the Thomson Foundation, IREX and the British Council; support unions including the NUJ (National Union of Journalists), TUC (with participants from across the trade union spectrum) and Federation of Entertainment Unions (Equity, Musician’s Union, Writer’s Guild); lead collaborative projects with in-country partners; deliver workshops for the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and deliver bespoke training for corporate clients in UK and overseas. Examples of 2015/2016 projects and workshops:

Azerbaijan Business Journalism Programme
I plan and deliver this multimedia programme for senior Azerbaijani journalists from print, online, TV and radio. Over five years, this has become a highly-prestigious journalism training programme, with training in Baku and London. Delivered on behalf of British Council Azerbaijan, Pasha Bank and the Thomson Foundation.

Airtel Change Your Story
Four cities in Nigeria; four weeks; one hundred journalists … and a new approach to journalism that really makes a difference. This highly successful  and inspiring project was developed and delivered by myself with in-country partner (The Journalism Clinic). Hands-on training was combined with a competitive challenge to create multimedia projects that encourage positive change in local communities
